Fullerton’s Duarte, Cramer Honored by Soccer Coaches

Fullerton’s Amber Duarte, who led the Orange Empire Conference in scoring, was selected most valuable women’s soccer player by the conference coaches. Duarte, a freshman, had 19 goals in 10 conference games and 25 goals on the season.

Fullerton’s first-year coach, Mike Cramer, was selected coach of the year.

The first team: Jessica Barr (Irvine Valley), Shellie Bradbury (Orange Coast), Rosie Cisneros (Rancho Santiago), Jennifer Cunningham (Fullerton), Faith Desatoff (Cypress), Brandi Griffith (Golden West), Megan Harry (Fullerton), Keri Lawson (Orange Coast), Felicia Madrigal (Cypress), Kelly Makaipo (Irvine Valley), Colby Morgan (Cypress), Audrey Sinclair (Cypress) and Terra Tileh-Kooh (Orange Coast).

The second team: Dawn Bitsie (Fullerton), Val Brice (Cypress), Tana Botich (Rancho Santiago), Shannon Donegan (Orange Coast), Dyana Flacks (Fullerton), Jessica Funke (Orange Coast), Amy Fylpaa (Irvine Valley), Lori Harris (Cypress), Christina Lopez (Rancho Santiago), Erin McDermott (Cypress), Jessica Mohler (Irvine Valley), Jamie Nichols (Golden West), Heather Parsons (Orange Coast) and Lizzy Schilling (Cypress).

Fernando Castellanos of Rancho Santiago was selected player of the year by the Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer coaches.

Castellanos led Rancho Santiago to a 11-0-1 mark in conference and a 16-2-2 overall mark.

Rancho Santiago’s J.P. Frutos was selected coach of the year.
