Oak Park 53, Santa Barbara 52--John Murphy sank the winning free throw with no time left for the Eagles in the Thousand Oaks tournament.
Randy Gastwirt scored 21 points, including three three-pointers, for Oak Park (2-0).
Thousand Oaks 66, Grant 58--Joe Riccio scored 16 points and Josh Armour had 13 for the Lancers in the Thousand Oaks tournament.
Sophomore Gilbert Arenas scored 26 points for Grant (1-3).
Chatsworth 63, Poly 61--Richard Harrison made a layup with one second left for the Chancellors in a nonleague game at Poly.
Ryan Boehm made two free throws with 4.2 seconds left to tie the score. While Poly celebrated, Chatsworth threw a long pass to Harrison.
Montae McFarland had 24 points for Chatsworth, and Willie Wilson scored 23 for Poly (0-1).
Cleveland 64, Redondo 60--The Cavaliers used a 12-0 third-quarter run to take control at the Beverly Hills tournament.
Michael Schultz scored 15 points for Cleveland (1-1).
Redondo (3-2) was leading, 39-38, halfway through the third quarter when a basket by Schultz started the run and Cleveland ended the third quarter with a 49-40 lead.
Hoover 69, Burbank 64--Andy Russell scored seven of his 29 points in overtime as the Tornadoes (3-1) edged the Bulldogs (3-1) in a nonleague game at Hoover.
Saugus 56, Kennedy 53--Mike Shelby scored 18 points for the Centurions (2-1) and they outscored Kennedy, 21-10, in the fourth quarter in the Westlake Tournament.
Michael Calloway had 20 points for Kennedy (1-2).
La Canada 54, Valencia 51--David Meiding and David Hyun made three of four free throws in the final 45 seconds to break a 51-51 tie for the Spartans (3-1) in a nonleague game at La Canada.
Sherman Oaks CES 84, USC Mast 64--Sal Raphael had 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead Sherman Oaks (4-0) to a victory in its Magnet League opener at home.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Palmdale 44, Dominguez 40--The Falcons, who played in the Southern Section Division II championship game last season, outscored the Dons, 18-4, in the third quarter of a nonleague game at Palmdale.
Monique Nolan and Marjorie Knott each had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Chatsworth 3, Granada Hills 1--Goals by Abdulah Safdari and David Mexia broke a second-half tie for Chatsworth (1-1-1, 1-1-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Granada Hills (0-2-1, 0-2-1).
