Peterson Paces San Clemente to Victory in Water Polo

Suzaine Peterson’s three goals late in the game helped San Clemente to a 5-2 victory in nonleague girls’ water polo Tuesday at San Clemente
Goalie Julie Manning had nine saves for San Clemente (2-4). Maya Boukai had 19 saves for Laguna Hills, which remains winless at 0-4.
In other water polo games:
El Modena 9, Cypress 1--Sophomore Ashley Belcher scored three goals for host El Modena (4-3).
Loara 22, Santa Ana Valley 10--Anne Finck scored 11 and Natalie Dunn had seven for Loara (1-0). Katie Goodwin had 16 saves for the Saxons.
Rosary 9, Whittier La Serna 5--Freshman Natalie Golda scored five goals for host Rosary (5-2). La Serna is 5-2.
Villa Park 12, Corona del Mar 5--Morgan Meyer and Kristyn Pulver each scored four goals for visiting Villa Park (6-1).
El Dorado 16, Tustin 4--Anne Ghiulemilia scored six goals and Jessica Durkin had four to lead El Dorado.
Valencia 9, Esperanza 3--Brianna Foulds scored four goals to lead Valencia (7-1). Casey Winhall had 17 saves for Esperanza.
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Canyon 2, Rancho Cucamonga 1--Brandon Coleman scored two goals to lead Canyon (7-0-2).
El Toro 3, Laguna Hills 1--Brian Stucker scored two goals and Julian Gaitan had one goal to lead second-ranked El Toro (7-1-1).
Saddleback 1, Orange 1--Jose Retiz scored first for Saddleback (4-1-1) then Victor Diaz tied the score for Orange (5-0-2).
