* The 1997 Erik Kramer Matador Football Golf Classic is scheduled for a shotgun start at 11 a.m. June 9 at Woodland Hills Country Club.

Entry cost of the Texas-scramble tournament is $200 per golfer or $700 per foursome, with proceeds to benefit the Cal State Northridge football program. The event also will include longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests.

Kramer is a former Pierce College football player who plays quarterback for the Chicago Bears. He staged the tournament to benefit Pierce the past several years, but with the move of former Pierce Coach Jim Fenwick to Northridge, proceeds will go to the CSUN program for the first time.
