Monterrey Rallies to Beat Splash

Monterrey scored six goals, three each in the second and third quarters and defeated the visiting Splash, 6-4, in a Continental Indoor Soccer League game Sunday at Monterrey Tech Arena in Mexico.

Terry Rowe scored two early goals as the Splash (6-6) opened a 2-0 lead, but Monterrey (7-6) scored six consecutive goals.

Genoni Martinez scored early in the second half to give Monterrey a 4-2 lead and extend his streak to 16 games with at least one point. The goal also gives the all-star defender 200 career points in the CISL.

Jaime Flores scored Monterrey’s final goal with about five minutes left in the third quarter.

The Splash finally got another goal when Thor Lee scored with about two minutes left in the third quarter to cut the lead to 6-3.

Bernie Lilavois scored with about 11 minutes left to play for the Splash’s final goal.
