Barber Helps Lift Splash to Victory

Danny Barber scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead the Splash to a 7-5 Continental Indoor Soccer League victory Wednesday at Seattle.
Barber (18 goals, 13 assists) could have been a goat, missing three open-net shots through three quarters and the score tied, 4-4.
But Barber assisted Bernie Lilavois on two fourth-quarter goals for a 6-4 lead, and then scored against Seattle’s sixth attacker with 2 minutes 1 second left to put the game away.
Lilavois (29 goals 12 assist) had two goals and two assists against Juan DeLao, the league’s leading goalkeeper.
The third-place Splash (11-8) won its second consecutive road game and pulled within three games of first-place Seattle (15-6).
Dale Ervine and Rich Ryerson also scored for the Splash.
