Joseph Makes Difference for Master’s in Fresno, 75-74

Jerome Joseph scored with 14 seconds remaining to lift The Master’s College to a 75-74 victory over Fresno Pacific in a men’s basketball game Tuesday night in Fresno.

The Mustangs (4-4) trailed, 74-71, with 1:10 left after Charles Butcher scored four points in less than five seconds for the Sunbirds (3-4).

Joclin Julmist scored with 45 seconds left to bring The Master’s within one. After a miss by Jake Weathers, the Mustangs worked the ball inside to Joseph, who had 10 points. Weathers missed a shot at the buzzer for Fresno Pacific.

Lincoln Nugent had 14 points for Master’s and Jeremiah Cathey had 13. The Mustangs had six players in double figures.

In women’s basketball games:

Pepperdine 64, Cal State Fullerton 58--Samantha Rigley scored 17 points and Angie White contributed 12 for the Waves (4-1) in a nonconference game at Fullerton (1-4).

Center Erin Whiteside had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Titans.

Miami (Ohio) 78, CS Northridge 66--The Matadors (1-4) blew an eight-point halftime lead and were outscored, 47-27, in the second half of a nonconference game at Northridge.

Freshman Edniesha Curry had 19 points and six assists for the Matadors, who shot 52% from the field in the first half, but only 28% in the second half.
