Mission Viejo Finishes Third at Tournament

Jerry Bolton had 20 points and seven rebounds to help Mission Viejo to a third-place victory over Covina Western Christian, 69-54, in the Costa Mesa Jason Ferguson tournament Thursday at Costa Mesa High.

Joey Reid also added 17 points for Mission Viejo (3-4).

In the Cerritos Valley Christian boys’ basketball tournament:

Anaheim 63, Bosco Tech 62--Tru Nguyen scored 24 points and had eight rebounds and five steals to lead Anaheim (3-3). Shu Todoroki added 19 points and 10 assists for Anaheim, which led 34-25 at the half.

In the Fullerton tournament:

Canyon 80, Whittier La Serna 55--Drew Gaulden scored 23 points and Neil Hammad had 19, including 15 on three-pointers, for Canyon (4-0).

In the La Quinta tournament:

Laguna Beach 63, Huntington Beach 49--Nick Reynolds scored 20 points in a pool-play victory for Laguna Beach (4-2). B.J. Jamison scored 15 points for La Quinta.

In the Napa tournament:

Fountain Valley 70, Santa Rosa 40--Eric Edmunds scored 21 points and had seven rebounds to lead Fountain Valley (2-1) in the first-round game at Napa High. The Barons, who led 30-20 at the half, also got 17 points from Brad Keenan and Ryan Moreau added six assists, four steals and four points.

In the Ocean View Tournament of Champions:

Los Alamitos 79, Servite 48--Ryan Ellis scored 17 points, Rick Garibay had 13 and Matt Komer contributed 12 points and eight rebounds for Los Alamitos in the consolation game. Steve Shea had 21 points and eight rebounds for Servite, which trailed by 16 at the half.

In nonleague games:

Orangewood Academy 74, Lake Elsinore Los Pinos 45--Starly Alvarado scored 32 points for Orangewood (3-1).

Santa Margarita 61, Dana Hills 35--T.J. Williams scored 15 points to lead Santa Margarita (5-0) over Dana Hills (2-1).
