Montclair Prep 24, Avalon 0--The Mounties (5-1-1) outgained Avalon in total yards, 264-29, on Catalina Island.

Robert Bowens rushed for 151 yards in seven carries and scored on a 49-yard run, all in the first half. Anthony Rosario had scoring runs of two and three yards in his only carries to give Montclair Prep an 18-0 lead in the second quarter.

After limiting Avalon (2-3) to minus-21 yards rushing in the first half, Montclair Prep pulled its starters.

Twentynine Palms 14, Village Christian 14--Village Christian scored two touchdowns in the second half to erase a 14-0 deficit at Kennedy High.

David Romberger, who rushed for 61 yards in 24 carries, scored on a one-yard run late in the third quarter to pull the Crusaders (6-2-1) to within 14-7. Quarterback Jeff Johnston ran one yard for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to tie the score.
