TONIGHT’S GAME

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (8-1) at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (4-5)
* Kickoff: 6 p.m.
* TV: Channel 7.
* Storyline: The NFL’s No. 1 defense versus the NFC’s No. 1 offense, and both are suspect. The 49ers have been good on defense because they haven’t played anyone. They remain weak at corner, and without Bryant Young (injured) in the middle, they are vulnerable to a strong running team. The Eagles rank No. 1 on offense without a quality quarterback. The 49ers are 5-0 the week after playing the Cowboys in the ‘90s, but Philadelphia has defeated San Francisco in its last two meetings and needs this game or the season is over. Ricky Watters runs for a bunch in an upset special.
* The Line: 49ers by 3 1/2.
* The Pick: Eagles
