It’s All in Schottenheimer Family

When Kansas City Chief Coach Marty Schottenheimer calls his son this weekend, he’ll be careful to steer the conversation clear of what will be happening on Sunday afternoon.

“His mom and I want to know how he’s doing, we want to know how his dog’s doing, we want to know if he’s got his laundry done and all those things,” Schottenheimer said. “We won’t talk about football.”

That’s because Brian Schottenheimer, 24, is an offensive intern with the St. Louis Rams, this week’s opponent for his dad’s Kansas City Chiefs. And he wouldn’t want to be accused of being a spy, or a double agent.

“I think blood’s thicker than water,” Brian said. “If I had something to give the defense to help against the Chiefs’ offense, I would. Other than that, I just keep my mouth shut as usual and absorb things.”
