West L.A. 48, Ventura 17--Quarterback Bryan Paul ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Oilers in a Western State Conference game at Ventura High.
Paul scored on runs of 19 and 83 yards in the second half.
Ventura trailed, 7-0, in the first quarter when Brandon Scott ran 59 yards for a touchdown.
Scott finished with 233 yards in 20 carries for the Pirates.
Marco Pleas scored on a three-yard run to give West L.A. a 14-7 lead. He finished with 111 yards in 10 carries.
Andre Joseph scored on a 12-yard pass from Rolando Garcia for Ventura’s final touchdown.
Garcia threw four interceptions and backup Bartley Patrcik threw two interceptions.
