Wen’s 68 Helps UCI Golf Team Take 6th Place

Andrew Wen shot a final-round four-under 68 in the Pacific Invitational golf tournament at Saddle Creek Golf Course in Copperopolis to help UC Irvine finish sixth.

Wen, who had the second-lowest round of the day on the 7,019-yard course, finished tied for seventh at six-under 210 for the tournament.

Irvine shot four-under 860, 11 shots behind winner, California. The Anteaters were one of seven teams to finish under par.

In nonconference men’s soccer:

Cal State Dominguez Hills 6, Southern California College 0--Alex Rodriguez and Walter Jenkins each scored two goals for host Dominguez Hills (4-4), which outshot SCC (5-4), 14-3. Matt Resor had eight saves for SCC, which has lost four of its last five.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 4, Concordia 0--Luan Lai scored two first-half goals for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (4-1). Concordia is 3-4.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s volleyball:

Point Loma Nazarene 3, Concordia 0--Jaime Gast had seven kills and eight digs in the loss for Concordia (3-12, 0-2). Point Loma (10-2, 2-0), ranked seventh in the NAIA, won the match, 15-6, 15-5, 15-9.
