Montclair Prep 42, Van Nuys 7--Robert Bowens rushed for 198 yards and two touchdowns in nine carries for Montclair Prep at Valley College.
Chidi Daniels of Montclair Prep intercepted Bobby Hernandez’s pass and ran 90 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to give the Mounties (2-0-1) a 14-7 lead.
Bowens had touchdown runs of 12 and 87 yards.
Fullback Kevin Bentley scored on a 70-yard touchdown run up the middle to give Montclair Prep a 28-7 lead late in the third quarter. Bentley finished with 94 yards in three carries.
Van Nuys (0-3) scored on a three-yard touchdown run by Andre Peeples in the first quarter to tie the score, 7-7.
