Caligiuri Has 7 RBIs; Camarillo Rolls, 16-2

Jay Caligiuri had three hits, including two home runs, and seven runs batted in Thursday to help Camarillo High rout San Marcos, 16-2, in the Dos Pueblos tournament at San Marcos.

Freshman Thomas Wilson, in his first varsity game, pitched a five-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts for the Scorpions (10-2).

Kennedy 6, Brighton (Utah) 5--Dave Hernandez drove in four runs with two hits, and scored the game-winning run in the 11th inning for the Golden Cougars (13-3) in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Basic High in Henderson, Nev.

Hernandez scored on a single by Manny Bernal after singling home Danny Perez with the tying run. Jack Cassel singled, doubled and tripled for the Golden Cougars.

Kennedy turned three double plays during extra innings.

Kennedy 11, Henderson Basic 6--Jack Cassel and Aron Rofer each drove in one run with two hits for the Golden Cougars, who won in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Basic High.

Tim Arroyo (2-1) allowed two earned runs in five innings, striking out seven and walking five, and drove in two runs with two hits for Kennedy.

Birmingham 3, Los Banos 2--Billy McGrath (3-4) pitched a three-hitter and hit a one-out home run in the eighth for the Braves (8-7) in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Clark High in Las Vegas.

McGrath, who allowed one earned run while striking out eight and walking one, and also hit a triple.

Joey Rubin, who had three hits for Birmingham, gave the Braves a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-run home run.

Burroughs 10, Pleasant Grove (Utah) 7--Tommy Perez hit two home runs and had six RBIs for the Indians in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Las Vegas.

Perez hit a three-run home run in the first inning and a two-run home run in the third inning for Burroughs (9-5).

Jeremy Cartee and Robert Barillas each had a home run and two RBIs for Burroughs.

Sylmar 8, Highland 4--Mario Pacheco had three hits and scored two runs for the Spartans in a Bishop Gorman tournament victory at Las Vegas.

TravissHodge had two hits and two RBIs for Highland (9-5).

Tustin 8, San Fernando 2--Eddie Flores had two hits, including a home run, but the Tigers lost in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Chaparral High.

Flores hit a solo home run in the seventh and the Tigers (4-7) scored again when Hector Salazar singled, stole second and came around to score on two passed balls.

La Habra 12, Chaminade 4--Ryan Soroka had four hits, including a triple, and Chris Martinez hit his 10th home run but the Eagles fell in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Valley High in Las Vegas.

Chaminade (5-5-1) trailed, 10-0, after three innings.

Channel Islands 4, Ventura 3--James Calderon had a pinch-hit, two-run home run in the sixth to lift the Raiders (4-8-1) past the Cougars (6-7-1) in the Dos Pueblos tournament at Ventura.

Mike Anderson hit a solo home run in the third to give Ventura a 1-0 lead and a two-run shot in the fifth for a 3-2 advantage.

Hueneme 6, Moorpark 5--David Schoonmaker pitched a nine-hitter, striking out five, to help the Vikings (9-4) win in the Dos Pueblos tournament at Hueneme.

Chris Neri and Robert Avila each had two hits and two RBIs for Hueneme (9-4), which scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Taylor Slimak and Brendan Weak each had two hits for Moorpark (9-4).

Oxnard 4, Hawthorne 1--Chad Pierson had three hits, including a two-run home run and a run-scoring single for the Yellowjackets in the Dos Pueblos tournament at Oxnard.

Eric Swanger (2-0) scattered five hits in five innings, allowing one earned run while striking out eight and walking three. Swanger had two hits and scored twice.

Omari Parker had two hits, including a run-scoring double, and Patrick Beltran had three hits for Oxnard (5-3-1).

Rio Mesa 6, Sonora 5--Isaac Romero had three hits and two RBIs to help the Spartans (9-4) win in the Dos Pueblos tournament at Rio Mesa.

Crespi 5, La Salle 3--Andy Campanella’s tie-breaking two-run double in the fifth inning gave the Celts a victory in the St. Paul tournament at Valley College.

Christian Cardenas had three hits and scored twice for the Celts (11-3-1).

Tim Leveque (5-0) pitched a five-hitter, striking out six and walking one.

St. Bonaventure 2, Carpinteria 1--Tim Coultas singled to drive home Pat Devericks with the winning run with two out in the seventh inning of a Tri-Valley League game at St. Bonaventure (4-7, 2-1).

Santa Clara 3, Santa Paula 0--Terrance Dotsy (2-2) pitched a one-hitter for the Saints in a Frontier League victory at Santa Clara.

Dotsy had a no-hitter for 4 1/3 innings before giving up single to Rudy Navarro.

Ryan Baker and Danny Chaparro each had two hits and one RBI for Santa Clara (4-6, 1-4).

Baker hit a home run in the sixth.

Royal 4, Simi Valley 1--Two errors by the Pioneers helped the Highlanders score three runs in the seventh inning of a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley.

Mike Byer (3-2) pitched a six-hitter for Royal (8-4, 4-1), striking out 10 and walking three.

Brandon Voorhees drove in one run with two hits for Simi Valley (8-5, 2-3).

Oak Park 9, Bishop Diego 1--Jeff Roberts had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles in a Tri-Valley League game at Oak Park.

Roberts (2-2) allowed two hits and struck out seven for his third complete game.

Cory Boldroff had two hits and two RBIs for Oak Park (3-5, 1-1).

Buena 10, Lompoc 4--Mike Frick (3-3) gave up one hit in five innings, struck out eight and walked two, and the Bulldogs (7-7) won at Buena.

Lompoc (10-5) scored four runs off reliever Kurt Probasco in the last two innings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 7-0 deficit.

Matt Foster, Kyle Loughman, Nathan Pierce and Probasco each had two hits for Buena.

Fillmore 12, L.A. Baptist 10--Vidal Morales hit a tie-breaking single in the seventh and later scored on a sacrifice fly to cap the Flashes’ come-from-behind victory at L.A. Baptist.

Fillmore trailed, 10-9, entering the seventh, but the Flashes (6-2) tied the score, 10-10, on Martin Morales’ one-out single.

Andrew Petersen had three hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs for L.A. Baptist (6-3).

Petersen hit a three-run home run in the first to give the Knights a 3-0 lead and his two-run shot in the fifth gave them an 8-6 lead.

Campbell Hall 9, Faith Baptist 6--Steve Kim and Michael Frost each hit two-run home runs in the second inning for the Vikings in a Delphic League victory at Faith Baptist.

Daniel Bruckner and Blake Lichtig each had two hits and two RBIs for the Vikings (8-3, 2-0).

Julio Bautista had three hits and three RBIs for Faith Baptist (6-4, 0-2).
