2 Teenagers Held in School Burglary
Two Oxnard teenagers suspected of breaking into Channel Islands High School over the weekend were taken into custody after police found them huddled together on the rooftop of the dugout near the campus baseball field, authorities said Sunday.
Abel Aragon, 19, was being held in Ventura County Jail, a police official said. A 15-year-old male whose name was being withheld because he is a juvenile was booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall, the official said.
Police were dispatched to the high school about 5:15 a.m. Saturday after a burglar alarm was activated in several classrooms at the south end of the campus at 1400 Raiders Way.
Upon arriving, police discovered two youths running from the building and heading southbound across the campus.
Authorities said they found assorted burglary tools inside and outside a classroom, but did not provide details about what property was stolen.
