Proposal to Hide Antennas on Agenda
Hiding microwave antennas will be one of several components of an ordinance regulating telecommunications equipment that will be considered tonight by the City Council.
Approval of applications for cellular telephone antennas has been restricted since 1996, when the city imposed emergency regulations on the location and design of the equipment.
The proposal would require companies to consider antennas that blend into their surroundings, such as those that look like trees.
The 7 p.m. meeting will be at City Hall, 23161 Lake Center Drive.
