UC Irvine in Seventh Place After 1st Day of Tournament
Greg Snider finished at three-under par for 27 holes in the Big West Conference men’s golf championship, helping UC Santa Barbara take a 16-stroke lead in the 54-hole event that began Monday at Pacific Golf & Country Club in San Clemente.
Snider, who shot 105, leads teammate Brian Helton and North Texas’ Seth Thornton by one stroke.
Idaho and North Texas are tied for second behind UC Santa Barbara. UC Irvine is seventh, 27 shots back.
Irvine’s Mike Lawrence is tied for ninth at three-over 111.
Play concludes today with 27 holes.
