4.3 Temblor Strikes Mammoth Lakes Area
A magnitude 4.3 earthquake, the second moderate temblor in the past week in the Mammoth Lakes area, occurred late Friday and was centered 11 miles southeast of the Eastern Sierra community, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The 11:01 p.m. jolt caused no damage or injuries.
There have been two quakes in the 5.0 magnitude range and several more in the 4.0 range in the same area since June 8. A 4.0 quake also occurred nearby last Sunday.
