Simi Valley 72, Edgewater (Fla.) 71--Rafael Berumen swatted away a last-second shot from the lane to preserve the Pioneers’ quarterfinal victory in the Great Florida Shootout in Kissimmee, Fla.

Simi Valley (6-0) led, 72-69, with 15 seconds to play when Branduinn Fullove drew a technical foul for hanging on the rim. Mario Otis made two free throws for Edgewater (6-1).

Berumen had 19 points and eight assists. Fullove had 15 points.

Simi Valley plays Wolfson of Jacksonville, Fla., in a semifinal today at 4 p.m.

Sylmar 79, Green Valley 54--Jeremiah Turner had 14 points and George Wrighster added 13 points for fifth-ranked Sylmar (6-2) in a third-round game of the Las Vegas tournament.

Brandon Jacobs had 12 points for Sylmar, which outrebounded Green Valley, 33-18.

Harvard-Westlake 56, Marine Military 48--Russell Lakey scored 15 points and Alex Holmes added 12 for Harvard-Westlake (4-4), which won a third-round game in the Las Vegas tournament at Cimarron-Memorial High.

Stratford (Houston) 57, Newbury Park 47--Matt Wiegle scored 14 points to lead Stratford (5-2) in a third-round game of the Las Vegas tournament.

Brian Bobik had 19 points and Jesse Roche had 11 for Newbury Park (5-3).

Buena 58, Channel Islands 48--Josh Nevon and Ryan Cobos each scored eight points in the final period for the Bulldogs (7-4), who broke a 34-34 tie after three quarters to win a pool-play game in the Ventura tournament.

Cobos, who made seven three-pointers, led all scorers with 23 while Nevon finished with 15 for Buena, which will face Cathedral at 3 p.m. today.

Santa Clara 78, Cathedral 31--Nick Jones had 20 points and B.J. Ward had 16 for Santa Clara (7-1) in the first round of the Ventura tournament.

Hart 72, North Hollywood 54--Kelly Weldon had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Liam Waters had 15 points for Hart (6-4) in a consolation game of the Bell-Jeff tournament.

Eric Roller had 17 points for North Hollywood.

Campbell Hall 55, St. Anthony 52--Brandon Woodard had 14 points and a season-high 20 rebounds and Jesse Foster had 12 points and a season-high nine blocked shots for Campbell Hall (8-2) in the pool play game of the Calvary Chapel tournament.

Woodard topped his previous season high of 18 rebounds set against Viewpoint.

Foster’s nine blocked shots exceeded the seven he had against St. Margaret’s.

Westlake 55, Granada Hills 53--Jake DeGennaro had 22 points and Tyler Adamczyk had six points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors (5-3) in a quarterfinal of the Westlake tournament. Keith Cochran had seven points and 10 rebounds for Westlake.

Marshall 57, Hueneme 50--Trailing by 10 points after three periods, Marshall (4-2) came back when Fauley Saelor made three three-pointers and scored 16 of his game-high 21 in the fourth quarter of a Westlake tournament game.

Robert Luna finished with 16 points for the Vikings (2-6).

Crespi 60, Saugus 53--Marcon Jagoda scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and made six steals as the Celts (5-1) won a game in the Westlake tournament.

Andrew Moore added 13 and Tim McDonough had 12 for Crespi, which will meet Lynwood in the semifinals at 6:30 today.

Mike Edwards and Kurt DeMaio each scored 12 and Sid Echevesetre finished with 10 for the Centurions (6-3).
