Cypress’ Kiernan Will Step Down at the End of Basketball Season

Kevin Kiernan, in his sixth season as the women’s basketball coach at Cypress, will resign at the end of the season, the college announced Monday.

Cypress (20-9 overall) is 7-3 and tied for second in the Orange Empire Conference with four games left. Kiernan, who is a walk-on, is also girls’ varsity coach at Troy High. His college games are Wednesdays and Fridays and the high school team plays Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“I have some offers I’m considering and it just seems the right time to go,” he said in a statement.
