Ex-Crespi Star Felten Stops Northridge, 12-4

Brian Felten, a freshman from Crespi High, pitched his first complete game for Loyola Marymount on Wednesday in the Lions’ 12-4 victory over visiting Cal State Northridge.

Felten (4-1) struck out two and allowed three earned runs on eight hits for Loyola (7-8-1).

Jeff Martin (2-1) allowed five runs (four unearned) on seven hits in three innings for the Matadors (11-9).

Darren Dyt drove in two runs with two hits for Northridge, including a home run.

USC 5, Pepperdine 2--Eric Munson’s two-run single in the top of the 11th inning broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Trojans (11-3) to a nonconference victory at Pepperdine.

East L.A. 19, Pierce 16--Seth Barkley drove in six runs with three hits, including a two-run home run and a three-run home run, for Pierce (4-5) in a nonconference game at East L.A.

WOMEN’S GOLF

Pepperdine (657 strokes) and Cal State Northridge (678) finished 17th and 18th in the UCLA tournament at the Menefee Lakes Country Club in Temecula.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Pepperdine 6, San Diego 3--Karoline Borgerson and Annabel Rognon scored three points for host Pepperdine (6-4) in a nonconference match.

Borgerson defeated Mirja Wallmark, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, at No. 3 singles while Rognon downed Steffi Hesse at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-3.

The pair then teamed to defeat Wallmark and Tasha Jackson, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles.

CS Northridge 6, UC Santa Barbara 3--Nely Horowic won her singles match and teamed with Shaheen Bhanji to win in doubles action for Cal State Northridge (3-4) in a nonconference match at UC Santa Barbara.
