Palmdale High may be the three-time defending Golden League girls’ basketball champion, but Littlerock and Highland have had their eyes on the crown.

Littlerock beat Highland, 40-32, on Thursday night in a game that may have given the Lobos an inside track as the top challenger to Palmdale’s title.

“It was a huge game for us and it puts us in a pretty good spot,” said Littlerock Coach Tom Hegre, whose team meets Palmdale on Jan. 20.
