Keane, McIntee Each Score 31 in SCC Victory

Dennis Keane and Justin McIntee each scored 31 points to help Southern California College race past California Christian, 130-112, in a nonconference men’s basketball game Friday at SCC.

Terence Wilborn scored 23 points, making 10 of 12 from the field, and Adam Dzierzynski had 10 points and 15 assists for SCC (11-8), which scored 73 second-half points to break open a close game. The Vanguards shot 64% from the field.

Marcus Hollis scored 41 points, making eight of 11 three-pointers, for California Christian (19-4).

In another nonconference game:

UC San Diego 102, Chapman 67--Nate Strange had 16 points and six rebounds for Chapman (6-8), which shot 37% from the field and trailed, 55-30, at halftime.

Tyler Field had 22 points and 15 rebounds for UC San Diego (12-4).

In Big West Conference women’s basketball:

Boise State 59, UC Irvine 48--Leticia Oseguera had 18 points and 15 rebounds for UC Irvine (7-7, 2-1), which shot 30% from the field. Boise State is 8-7, 2-1.

Idaho 86, Cal State Fullerton 77--Idaho scored 28 points off 28 Titan turnovers to hand Fullerton Titans (5-9, 2-1) its first conference loss. Idaho (6-10, 2-1) was led by Kelli Johnson with 26 points.

Erin Whiteside had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Fullerton. Andrea Thieme added 18 points.

In nonconference men’s volleyball:

UC Irvine 3, Cal State San Bernardino 0--Mike Rupp and Gabe Burt each had 11 kills to lead Irvine (1-0), which won, 15-7, 15-3, 15-7.
