Harvard-Westlake Has Chaminade’s Number
Harvard-Westlake High is suffering through its worst girls’ soccer season in four years but the Wolverines proved Friday they still can bite Chaminade, their biggest Mission League rival.
With a 1-0 upset of the Eagles, Harvard-Westlake is 7-0-1 against Chaminade in four seasons. Twila Kaufman scored in the 20th minute with an assist from Susan Baise.
The Eagles (16-2-1, 3-1 in league play) are 26-0 against the rest of the league in four years.
La Canada 2, San Marino 1--Erin Broadwell had a goal and an assist for the Spartans (8-0, 1-0) in a Rio Hondo League game.
Hart 8, Burroughs 0--Kellie Nordhagen scored three goals for Hart (11-2-3, 2-0-1) in a Foothill League game at Hart.
Monroe 11, Reseda 1--Liz Nemeth scored three goals for the Vikings (4-1, 2-0) in a Mid-Valley League game at Monroe (4-1).
North Hollywood 2, Van Nuys 1--Deniss Lopez and Erin Wade scored for the Huskies (1-3-1, 1-1) in a Mid-Valley League game at North Hollywood.
Poly 2, Sylmar 0--Jessica Sierra and Veronica Martinez scored for the Parrots (4-1, 2-0) in a Mid-Valley Conference game at Poly.

Oak Park 3, Carpinteria 2--Nick Henderson scored for the Eagles (4-4-2, 2-0) on a penalty shot midway through overtime.
A penalty shot by Ivan Vargas of Carpinteria (2-6-3, 0-3-1) forced overtime.
Burroughs 4, Hart 1--Miguel Meneses scored two goals for Burroughs (10-1-5, 2-0-1) in the Foothill League match.
Birmingham 1, Taft 1--Edwin Pouzeaud’s goal got the Toreadors (2-7-1, 1-4-1) even in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Birmingham (10-1-1, 4-1-1).
El Camino Real 5, Granada Hills 0--Jose Rivera had three goals for the Conquistadores (8-4-1, 5-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
Kennedy 2, Cleveland 0--Jeremy Hetzel and Diego Farfan scored for the Golden Cougars (5-6-3, 2-2-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Cleveland.
Chatsworth 1, San Fernando 1--Abdulah Sufdari’s penalty kick pulled the Chancellors (7-1-3, 2-1-3) even in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Chatsworth.
