4.1 Quake Rattles Area Near Salton Sea
A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook an area west of the Salton Sea at 2:29 p.m. Friday, Caltech seismologists reported. The quake centered about 35 miles south of Indio did no damage.
The scientists said the temblor occurred in the frequently active San Jacinto fault zone.
