BULLFROGS TONIGHT
vs. Virginia Vultures
* 7:30 tonight
Site--Arrowhead Pond
Records--Bullfrogs (17-0), Vultures (9-3)
Update--Officially, this is a Major League Roller Hockey rematch of the Bullfrogs’ 6-4 victory in Richmond June 30. But 13 players on both teams are playing for either Canada or the United States across town at Disney ICE at the International Ice Hockey Federation In-Line Hockey World Championship. Nine members of the Canadian National Team, including Canadian Coach Doug McCarthy, say they plan to skate against Switzerland at 4:30 p.m. and then hurry over to the Pond. American players John Hanson and Bill Lund of the Bullfrogs say they will skip the game to play for the U.S. against Russia at Disney ICE at 7:30. A third, goaltender Rob Laurie, is wavering. Laurie is MLRH’s leading goaltender, allowing fewer than 2 1/2 goals a game. Canadian team member Hugo Belanger, who played for the Bullfrogs last year and is now with the Vultures, leads the MLRH in scoring with 39 goals and 38 assists.
