4 Women Critically Injured in Freeway Accident
Four women were critically injured Saturday afternoon when their car careened off the Hollywood Freeway and landed on its top, authorities said.
Paramedics rushed one woman to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills and another to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. The other two were taken by helicopter to UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
A man who was in the car was treated for minor injuries at North Hollywood Medical Center.
The driver lost control of the car about 12:50 p.m. while traveling southbound near Sherman Way. The car landed near a soccer field in Valley Plaza Park. No other vehicles were involved, police said.
The cause of the accident was still under investigation.
