Azusa Pacific Gets No. 1 Seeding in NAIA Tournament
Azusa Pacific has been made the No. 1-seeded team for the NAIA men’s basketball tournament, which will be held at Oral Roberts University Tuesday through March 23.
“It’s a blessing and a curse,” said Azusa Pacific Coach Bill Odell. “The pressure is on and we have to respond.”
The Cougars, who at 31-4 are having the best season in school history, won the Golden State Athletic Conference championship and have a 14-game win streak.
Biola (29-6) and The Master’s (23-11) also will be in the 32-team tournament. Biola is the 11th-seeded team and The Master’s is unseeded.
Biola was the top-seeded team in the 1982 tournament and ended up losing in the final.
