* Cincinnati (27-5) vs. West Virginia (23-8): Cincinnati, which needed a last-minute three-point shot to avoid going to overtime against 15th-seeded Northern Arizona on Thursday, will need to improve on its first-half shooting against the Mountaineers. The Bearcats shot a dismal 24% (seven for 29) in the first half and trailed, 31-26. The Mountaineers, who made five of their 13 three-point shots against Temple, have five senior starters and are led by Brent Solheim. West Virginia will work a controlled medium-range game against the more athletic Bearcats and hope Cincinnati nods off again.

* Utah (26-3) vs. Arkansas (24-8): Utah Coach Rick Majerus has engineered a well-drilled, precise and disciplined team, but one that doesn’t show a lot of creativity. With their twin bruising frontcourt tandem of Michael Doleac and Hanno Mottola, the Utes scare people out of the paint. But other than Doleac and junior guard Andre Miller, who was held to eight points against San Francisco, Utah lacks a scoring threat. Arkansas Coach Nolan Richardson’s teams operate much more freely. Expect the Razorbacks, who are not as talented as in years past, to try to play at a fast pace and open up the game.
