Marlon Palmer scored 23 points for top-seeded Verbum Dei (22-5), which last week won the Southern Section Division IV-A championship, its 10th section tile.

Nick Booker scored 25 points for San Diego Section champion Bishop’s (25-8), which trailed, 27-26, at halftime.
