* Santa Margarita at Capistrano Valley, 6:30 Friday: Santa Margarita might be without top player Marcus Skacel, who missed the Orange County Championships last weekend because of a pulled muscle in his rib cage. South Coast League favorite Capistrano Valley has struggled early but will look for some momentum heading into league play.

* Newport Harbor at Marina, 6:30 Monday: Top-ranked Newport Harbor struggled to defeat fourth-ranked Marina in the semifinals of the Orange County Championships last week. Newport Harbor junior Adam Hearlson, a 6-foot-6 middle blocker, may be held out of this match because of a sprained ankle, so that he can get ready for league play, which begins Tuesday.

* Santa Margarita at Corona del Mar, 5:30 Tuesday: Fifth-ranked Santa Margarita opens Sea View League play with two tough road matches. Corona del Mar, ranked second in the county, won the Orange County Championships behind tournament MVP Greg Coon, a 6-6 middle blocker, and 6-5 junior Dennis Alshuler. Three days after this match, Santa Margarita plays at top-ranked Newport Harbor.
