Beyond ‘Seinfeld’: There Are Other Shows to Watch

The much-anticipated two-hour “Seinfeld” finale, beginning at 8 p.m. on Channel 4, isn’t the only thing on the tube tonight:

“Seinfeld” buffs can catch four vintage episodes on KTLA, beginning at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., Channel 5 will rebroadcast its two-hour 50th anniversary special, “50 Golden Years.”

ABC counters the “Seinfeld” juggernaut with a repeat of the Oscar-winning 1992 Clint Eastwood western, “Unforgiven,” at 8 p.m. on Channel 7.

KCAL hopes to lure viewers with a three-hour “Jerry Springer Show” marathon, beginning at 9 p.m. on Channel 9.

Cable’s TV Land has programmed absolutely nothing from 9 to 10 p.m. in honor of the show about “nothing.”

Three other series also have their season finales tonight: CBS’ “The Promised Land,” at 8 p.m. on Channel 2, concludes its second season.

On the fifth-season finale of CBS’ “Diagnosis Murder,” at 9 p.m. on Channel 2, the hospital explodes into a giant fireball.

NBC’s “ER” completes its fourth season at 10 p.m. on Channel 4.

Jerry Seinfeld has the last word as he guests on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” at 11:35 p.m. on Channel 4.

Today

MTV kicks off “Celebrity Deathmatch,” at 7:30 and 10 p.m., a new series that features fantasy fights between clay figure versions of celebrities. The premiere episode pits Jerry Seinfeld against Tim Allen.

Leeza Gibbons is host of the “25th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” at 9 p.m. on Channel 4.

Saturday

BET’s “Teen Summit” offers “The Untold Truth” about teen sex and pregnancy, at 9 a.m.

ABC presents live coverage of the 123rd Preakness Stakes from Baltimore, at 1:30 p.m. on Channel 7.

Popular comic Jeff Foxworthy will wax funny on the HBO comedy special “Jeff Foxworthy: Totally Committed,” at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday

CBS celebrates “60 Minutes at 30,” at 7 p.m. on Channel 2. The two-hour special features behind-the-scenes stories the correspondents and producers have never told on the air.

Sam Waterston and Mia Farrow star in ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney” presentation “Miracle at Midnight,” at 7 p.m. on Channel 7. The historical drama recounts how the Danes saved their Jewish countrymen from the Nazis.

Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep star in Eastwood’s acclaimed 1995 hit, “The Bridges of Madison County,” at 8 p.m. on Channel 4. Fox’s animated hits, “The Simpsons,” at 8 p.m., and “King of the Hill,” at 8:30 p.m., close out their seasons. On “The Simpsons,” Homer and Marge decide to make love in places where they might get caught. And on “King of the Hill,” Hank loses his job at Strickland Propane.

Craig T. Nelson headlines ABC’s “Peter Benchley’s Creature,” at 9 p.m. on Channel 7, the two-part thriller based on the “Jaws” author’s bestseller. The conclusion airs Monday at 9 p.m.

CBS’ “Touched by an Angel,” at 9 p.m. on Channel 2, has a special two-hour season finale set in China.

Fox’s “The X-Files,” at 9 p.m. on Channel 11, concludes its fifth season with an installment that sets up the feature version arriving in theaters next month.
