Northridge Men Ease Past Sacramento, 4-1

Federico Arroyo scored his eighth and ninth goals, and Mike Preis and Greg Avila also scored to give Cal State Northridge a 4-1 victory over Cal State Sacramento in a nonconference men’s soccer game Saturday at North Campus Stadium.
Arroyo gave the Matadors (10-5) a 2-0 lead with goals in the ninth and 21st minutes. Preis scored his 12th goal in the 51st minute and Avila his second in the 71st to give Northridge a 4-0 lead.
Brandon Healy scored for the Hornets (0-13-1) in the final minute.
Northridge has won nine of its last 11 games.
Cal Lutheran 1, Pomona-Pitzer 0--Charlie Noble scored his 11th goal in the 54th minute, boosting the Kingsmen past the Sagehens (8-6) in the first round of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.
Top-seeded Cal Lutheran (12-5) faces third-seeded Redlands on Tuesday at Cal Lutheran.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
La Canada 16, Glendale 5--Michael McDay scored seven goals and Tristan Nyby added five for the Spartans in a nonleague game at La Canada.
The Spartans (18-4), ranked third in Southern Section Division III, held Kevin Witt of Glendale to one goal.
