Borisoff Repeats as Marmonte Champion

Sophomore Brooke Borisoff of Agoura High won her second consecutive Marmonte League singles title and wrapped up an undefeated league season Monday at the Marmonte girls’ tennis individual finals at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

Top-seeded Borisoff defeated No. 2-seeded Nina Yaftali of Westlake, 6-2, 6-2, in the final.

Top-seeded Margo O’Donnell and Rebecca Hunau of Simi Valley won the doubles title, defeating teammates Stella Chu and Mindy Gondrez, 6-2, 6-1.

In other girls’ tennis tournaments:

Pacific View League--Tiffany Brymer of Rio Mesa defeated Camarillo’s Lauren Gaona, 7-6 (11-9), 6-2, to win the singles title at the Cabrillo Racquet Club in Camarillo.

In the doubles final, top-seeded Michelle Alvarez and Erin Jones of Camarillo beat No. 2-seeded Shannon Worthington and Bridget Ragan of Rio Mesa, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).

Golden League--Nicole Williford defeated Quartz Hill teammate Patti Young, 6-2, 6-1, to claim the singles title at Palmdale High.

Quartz Hill’s Shannon Murray and Heidi Gragg won the doubles final by defeating Marissa Oh and Dionne Werthmann of Lancaster, 6-2, 6-4.

Channel League--Yas Fisher of Buena and Kelly Schmandt of San Marcos won semifinal matches at San Marcos and will meet for the singles title Wednesday. The doubles play begins Wednesday morning.

GOLF

Southern Section North Regional--Ina Kim shot a six-over-par 78 to earn medalist honors, and teammate Emma Stachowitz added an 87 for Harvard-Westlake, which finished first with at 270 at Village Country Club in Lompoc.

The Wolverines, who finished three shots ahead of runner-up Bishop Montgomery, qualified for Monday’s finals at Sandpiper Golf Course in Goleta.
