Bill Paden, the track and field coach at Cleveland High for the last four years, has been hired as the school’s football coach.
Paden, 45, replaces Joe Santellano, who resigned last week.
Cleveland compiled a 20-43 record in six seasons under Santellano, including 2-8 this year.
Paden has eight years of high school football coaching experience.
He was the defensive coordinator at Chatsworth High in 1989 and the offensive coordinator from 1990-92. In 1994-95, he was the offensive coordinator at Cleveland.
Steve Landress, the Cleveland baseball coach and a former football coach at the school, will be one of Paden’s assistants.
