Julio Peraza
Saddleback, Freshman
Football
Peraza, a freshman from Dana Hills High, has proved to be as capable a runner in college as he was in high school, where he gained 1,826 yards as a senior. Peraza capped his first season at Saddleback with 192 yards and three touchdowns in 40 carries as the Gauchos beat Golden West, 50-42, Saturday. Peraza finished the season with 1,339 yards and nine touchdowns.

Verdell Jones
* Golden West, sophomore. Tied the Rustlers’ single-game reception record with 14 in a loss to Saddleback.
Amanda Ogle
Golden West, Sophomore
Water polo
Ogle, from Valencia High, was the Rustlers’ second-leading scorer during the season but improved in the state tournament. She had a team-high 15 goals in three games as Golden West won its second consecutive title. Ogle had five goals in the title game as the Rustlers beat Grossmont, 15-4. She had five goals in a 15-1 semifinal victory over Sierra and three in a 17-1 victory over Modesto.

Lisa Hermen
* Cypress, freshman. Scored the winning goal as the Chargers beat Palomar, 2-1, to advance to the state tournament.
