In another Marmonte League opener:
Thousand Oaks 29, Agoura 17--Lancer senior running back Wes Cobos rushed for 227 yards in 19 carries, scored touchdowns on a run from scrimmage and on a fumble return, and passed for another touchdown.
Agoura (2-2) took a 17-7 lead with 10:52 to play in the third quarter on a nine-yard pass from Alex LaFazia to Garrett Lepisto, but the Lancers countered by scoring in two plays--a 62-yard run by Cobos and a 14-yard scoring pass from Gabe Portilla to running back Joey Casillas. Casillas ran for a two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 17-15.
Thousand Oaks (1-3) took the lead on a 44-yard scoring run by Cobos late in the third quarter, and Cobos scored again early in the fourth by returning a fumble 55 yards.
On a double pass in the second quarter, Cobos hit Eric Schmidt for a 65-yard touchdown that cut Agoura’s lead to 10-7.
Agoura’s Ryan Antzoulatos rushed for 164 yards in 24 carries. LaFazia completed 16 of 25 for 158 yards, and Lepisto had eight receptions for 102 yards.
