Two suspects wanted in connection with a stabbing Oct. 8 were arrested in a gang sweep by Simi Valley police and Ventura County sheriff’s deputies.

Genaro Gonzalez, 19, and a 15-year-old were arrested Wednesday in a stabbing at Rancho Simi Park at Erringer Road and the Arroyo Simi, said Simi Police Sgt. Bob Gardner.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the back repeatedly during the fight between rival gang members, officials said.

Gonzalez was booked at the east valley jail, and the juvenile was cited and released to his parents.

“Our community has a zero tolerance to gang activity, and the Police Department will continue to aggressively seek out and target gang members with all the tools at our disposal,” said Simi Valley Police Chief Randy Adams.

Police also arrested 24-year-old Genaro Garcia for an outstanding warrant on a weapons violation. He also was booked at the east valley jail.

In addition, police arrested a 19-year-old male on suspicion of being under the influence of a narcotic. He was cited and released.

Eight other juveniles were found to be violating their probation for offenses ranging from possession of gang or graffiti paraphernalia to possessing alcohol or marijuana, officials said.

The suspects are all Simi Valley residents.
