Cal Lutheran Kicks Up Heels Again, 2-0
Cal Lutheran continued its dominance of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in women’s soccer, defeating La Verne, 2-0, Wednesday at La Verne.
Holly Roepke scored in the 29th minute and Christina Rasmussen added a goal in the 40th minute for the Regals (11-4, 9-0 in conference play), who have outscored SCIAC opponents, 34-1, this season.
The Regals are 91-1-1 in SCIAC games since joining the conference in 1990.
La Verne is 7-6-1, 5-3-1.
MEN’S SOCCER
Cal Lutheran 5, La Verne 1--Charlie Noble scored twice, his fourth multigoal game of the season, and the Kingsmen overcame a 1-0 deficit in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Cal Lutheran.
Oskar Kantoft had two goals, giving him 30 for his career, sixth on Cal Lutheran’s all-time list.
MEN’S WATER POLO
Citrus 12, Ventura 9--The Pirates, ranked No. 10 in the state, scored six fourth-quarter goals but fell in a Western State Conference game at Ventura.
Fred Sicard scored all six of his goals to help the sixth-ranked Owls (14-4-2, 4-0) build a 9-3 lead through three quarters.
Jason Perry scored four goals for the Pirates (13-8, 2-2).
Goalie Kyle Finley had nine saves for Ventura.
