Agent: Williams Will Sit Out

Defensive end Dan Williams, the NFL’s last veteran holdout, will sit out the season rather than accept the Kansas City Chiefs’ offer of $2.88 million as the club’s franchise player, said his agent, Roosevelt Barnes.
Williams, who had 10 1/2 sacks last season, wants a multiyear contract. General Manager Carl Peterson said that Williams must sign the one-year deal before the club is willing to negotiate a multiyear contract.
