OUTLOOK

The Aztecs should be one of the more improved teams in the league. They have plenty of experience and more size and strength than usual, but overall depth is a constant problem. Nguyen gives La Quinta some explosiveness in the offensive backfield and Fredrickson is a big target at tight end. The defensive line will be anchored by Faamausili, a noseguard who runs a 4.9 40-yard dash and benches 415 pounds, and the linebacking corps and secondary should be greatly improved. The Aztecs should get into the win column this season, but a playoff berth is probably asking too much.
