Royal d. Calvary Chapel, 18-16, 15-2--Courtney Guerra had 17 kills and Teresa Russell added nine kills and five blocks to lead the Highlanders (6-3) to the championship at the Dave Mohs Memorial Volleyball Tournament of Orange County.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Valencia tournament--Simi Valley won 11 matches to edge Hart and win the team championship for the second consecutive year at Valencia High.
Hart won 10 matches to take second place, and Granada Hills finished third with nine victories.
Jenny Munroe of Hart defeated Jasmin Dao of Granada Hills on games, 10-4, to win the singles championship for the second consecutive year. Margo O’Donnell and Rebecca Hunau of Simi Valley beat Penny Letts and Catherine Pucci of Hart, 10-3, to claim the doubles title for the second year in a row.
