A 43-year-old man was killed on the westbound Riverside Freeway near Brookhurst Street in Fullerton on Thursday when his car veered off the road and into a sound wall, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Steven Fujii, of Van Nuys, was not wearing a seat belt when his 1997 Honda Civic collided with the wall at 8:53 p.m., CHP Officer Denise Medina said. The air bag deployed, but it was not enough to prevent major head trauma, she said.
Officers are unsure what caused the car to cross the right-hand shoulder and into the wall. The CHP asks that anyone with information call the Westminster station at (714) 892-4426.
