Montclair Prep 14, Van Nuys 3--Gary Sonkur rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown in 20 carries to help spark the Mounties (1-1) at Van Nuys.
Sonkur scored on a four-yard run in the second quarter to give Montclair Prep a 14-0 lead. The Mounties intercepted two Van Nuys passes and held the Wolves (2-1) to 184 yards.
Montclair Prep took a 7-0 lead on the first play of the second quarter when Davon Smith caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from running back Ramon Johnson.
Alex Aguilar kicked a 42-yard field for Van Nuys.
