A man and a woman, believed to be a father and daughter, were found shot to death Monday night, apparently the climax of a long-running family dispute, police said.

Another couple, believed to be the dead woman’s mother and stepfather, were being questioned by police, said LAPD Det. Kyle Jackson.

“This incident involved an ongoing family dispute that has been going on for a few years,” Jackson said.

Neighbors said they heard men’s voices raised in a loud argument, followed by three shots.

Officers initially went to the house in the 5400 block of Norwich Avenue, in a middle-class neighborhood of Sherman Oaks, to investigate a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon. A man and a woman were taken to the Van Nuys station for questioning, Jackson said.

Officers then entered the house and found the two bodies, he said.

The woman, about 18, was dead on a sofa and the man, in his 40s, was slumped over a table.

It was believed the dead woman and her mother lived at the house, Jackson said.

No other details were available, police said.
