The city’s Traffic Safety Commission is studying the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Melody Lane, where at least two people have been struck and killed during the last 10 years. The most recent fatality occurred in January. There is no traffic light at the intersection, only a flashing light on a pedestrian crossing sign and a crosswalk. City studies show that numerous traffic accidents have taken place at the intersection. In March, area residents turned out for the monthly traffic safety commission meeting to demand safer streets.
