Westlake’s defense better be ready Friday against San Luis Obispo in the Division IV championship.
The Warriors, allowing only 8.8 points and 179.1 yards per game, go up against a team that has scored 118 points in three playoff games.
San Luis Obispo (12-1) has excelled despite losing running back Kani Walker to a broken leg in the second-to-last game of the regular season.
“He’d have over 2,000 yards by now,” said Coach Vic Ecklund of San Luis Obispo.
Khaled Elmasri has picked up the slack. Elmasri, who shared time with Walker in the Tigers’ I-formation, is approaching 1,200 yards rushing.
