Results from the Valencia tournament last week may have shed light on the Golden League title race.
Two days after Quartz Hill was pummeled by Lynwood, 79-57, Littlerock defeated Lynwood, 67-58.
Quartz Hill has the twin towers--6-foot-9 Jared Corpening and 6-8 Sahael Almuallem--as well as the backcourt duo of Johnson and Johnson--Kevin and Tony--and Lancaster, which did not compete in the tournament, cannot be overlooked.
But Littlerock, which lost to Eisenhower in the final, has senior swingman Gene Myvett, who scored 22 points against Lynwood and used his dribbling skills to break the Knights’ full-court press.
“He’s the heart and soul of our team,” said Coach Ben Dale of Littlerock. “I’m more of a fan than a coach. I appreciate the things he does on the floor.”
