Once again a professional athlete has broken the law and caused embarrassment to his team and to his family. And once again we are told that “Everybody makes mistakes” in order to minimize the impact of his actions.

Getting arrested for trying to solicit a prostitute after spending the day with your family is not a mistake, but instead it is an irresponsible and disgustingly selfish act. However, we are basically told that it is no different from forgetting to call your mom on Mother’s Day.
